Help with a HTPC/Gaming rig

Can anyone offer any advice for a new build that will be mainly for HTPC purposes but with a 560ti for some gaming. The build must be low on power.

I am considering these two processors,

AMD (Trinity) A4-5300 Dual-Core Socket FM2 Accelerated Processor

Intel Core i3-3220 3.30GHz (will the extra cores be worth the money)

I am getting a Bitfenix survivor case, and I have a 1tb Samsung f1 HDD
I would appreciate cpu and mobo suggestions and any tv card ideas!

On the HTPC side - will you be using extenders, or is it a solo build?
Are you building for live tv, if so, what signal sources (digital cable, over the air, cable card)
What type of network will the PC be on?

I have limited knowledge of HTPC stuff. I have only built one gaming rig before.

The rig will be for live tv with a free to air tv tuner card, lovefilm and sky go!

What are extenders, (sorry for lack of knowledge)
