Help with building my own display

I'm currently trying to build my own display. I got the case from an old 27" monitor and I already know which panel I could order. The power supply is also not a problem. But I still can't find a good LCD controller manufacturer that sells/makes them as individual parts. The only thing I know is that Dell makes their own. I know that this is messy and I know that that this isn't the most practical way, but the Croatian market is just too bad. All of the prices are 2x higher than on eBay/Amazon and the shipping from USA is too expensive. The current specs I'm aiming at are 144Hz, 2560x1400px and 350 brightness and In the end it is aproximately 150$ cheaper (considering that the part I'm looking for costs around 140$).

the 2 Samsung monitor screens were 2 different thicknesses so had to keep the thicker screen & plastic casing as to much work to modify the other bezel inside to accept the thicker screen. do you know how thick the old screen was & what is the thickness of the new screen you want? why do you think you might throw away the power board or power adapter?
nooneisback, you are doing a Frankenstein as I did that with parts from 2 different models of 19" Samsung monitors. 1 model had a bad vga controller but good screen & power board whereas the other had a good vga\dvi card but bad screen because of a scratch on left side. I took the good vga\dvi controller plus it's menu buttons & installed it into the good screen case after modifying the bezel for the menu buttons & modify the back for the dvi port. I used it for about 5yrs til I fixed this 24"samsung monitor I got from a customer about 6 months ago.

That is more or less what I want to archieve. The only problem is that i don't have 2 monitors from the sane manufacturer. Current things i have: a 27 inch case with a power supply (which will probavly be tgrown away), a crappy DVI card and a panel of those specs.
