When idle my Gpu is fine but when I start a game it starts making a faint buzzsaw noise and the fans ramp up extremely. What could be causing this?
I have an XFX R9 390x
try looking in the fans and see if anything is blocking airflow, and making the fans make that noise
I've cleaned out the card with compressed air already.
Wouldn't it make the noise all the time and not just when it ramps up?
And by a few months I mean like 2.
not really, the noise may only happen when at full blast, but also, is it one or both of the fans making the noise ?
I can't tell. I don't know if this will help, but it literally only makes the sound whenever the game is on my screen. If I alt+tab, the sound goes away immediately.
what caused it was it getting way too hot, maybe the fans started going out, maybe it was overclocked to high, maybe cooling is not so good in your case. but fixing it might not be an option, but it might not be damaged, but something is wrong with the fans if there making that nosie when spinning up
