[SOLVED] Help with identifying TVS diodes / fuses on WD PCB 006-0B40385 ?

Hi,

I recently killed a couple drives and am looking into swapping the ROM chips into replacement boards. I'd like to test the TVS diodes on both of them beforehand, but one of them I'm not 100% certain which components to check. I've tested all the ones labeled "74" so far.

Pics related are not my personal boards, but are the exact same model as mine and these pictures I found online are higher quality than anything I can provide myself.

Thanks for the quick reply.

Both diodes are reading fine (0.212 one direction, OL other direction), but it looks like there's no continuity from the 5V TVS diode and the +5V. As well, the bottom fuse seems to be blown. What would I do from here?

You could flow a blob of solder over the fuse. If there is no other problem, then the drive should work. You can check for shorts further downstream for added peace of mind.

Blobbing solder over the fuse seemed to do the trick! The drive is powering and recognized again.
