Help with SSD SATA 3

So here is my system specs:

Antec 1200
Rosewill RBR100-m PSU
EVGA 131-GT-E767-TR LGA 1366 Intel X58 SLI 3
EVGA 01G-P3-1561-KR GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB X2
Intel Core i7-960 Bloomfield 3.2GHz OC to 3.7
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 6GB TR3X6G1600C8D X2 12g total
2 Mushkin Enhanced Chronos MKNSSDCR120GB 2.5" 120GB SATA III in raid O
Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s
ASUS Black Blu-ray Drive Model BC-12B1ST/BLK/B/AS

Now my question is why am I only getting 190MBS reads on my SSD. I have it plugged in the the SATA 3.0 slots (red ones) And I have the latest drivers from Marvell. And I have the Hard drive set AHCI in Bios. What am I missing? I should be getting 550 mbs reads.

You list a X58 mobo, so why did you plug the SSD in a Marvell port.

Oh, because X58 doesn't support SATA III.

Without knowing your mobo, I have never had any luck with add-on controllers like Marvel or JMicron.

With the latest driver, make sure you are plugged into SATA III?

Now don't confuse SATA III 6Gbps with SATA II 3.0Gbps.

SATA III drives will scale down on a SATA II port, but your reads should be as you stated. So I'm no help!

Your X58 MB use a Marvell controller 88se9128 for the SATA III (6Gb/s) ports, which is slow. That is why you are get low read rate.

That Marvell controller has a maximum data bandwidth of PCIe x1 at 5Gb/s (500MB/s).

If you have those 2 SSDs in RAID-0, you will probably get better performance connecting them to the Intel SATA 3Gb/s ports.

If the 2 SSDs are not in RAID then leave them on the Marvell ports.

^+1 I agree. The Intel SATA ports could/should be faster then Marvells, even SATA II vs. SATA III.

But if they are in RAID (which I think you said they are), moving them from the Marvell ports to the Intel ports, you (probably) will lose all the info on the drives.
