Help with suggestion

My brother wants to do bitcoin/litecoin and is spending $550 for graphic card and a SSD/HDD... I found a $470 R9 290 with an aftermarket cooler on it and seems to be a good deal. should I get a SSD or a HDD? the computer will be barely touched and will turn on 24/7 for a whole year... what type of CPU is needed, can A dual core processor(LGA1155) bottleneck bitcoin mining?

For litecoin mining, I see nothing wrong with getting just a reference design R9 290. Get an SSD, a 120GB Samsung EVO is probably best. And no, the CPU will be fine, litecoin mining doesn't need CPU.

you can get the r9 290 with after market cooling
i dont recommend the reference cooler because it would be very loud especially when bitcoin mining
and a dual core cpu will be just fine

I found some website like butterflylabs and they sells a 600GH/s Monarch card for $$2100 is it legit? Also found this( http://virtualminingcorp.com/shop1/index.php?id_product=21&controller=product ) and not sure if it's legit? Help confirm if these are let hits because I'm planing to spend money into serious bitcoin mining... Is there legit website and legit product to mine above 100GH/s?
