Awesome, thanks for the tip as well. Will I still be able to use my old 500gb hdd for now? Also will I need to replace my power supply if it is very old? I'm not sure how powerful the power supply would need to be

What poser supply do you have now?

It's an emachines EL1352 with AMD Athalon II X2 215 2.70 Ghz. It's become almost useless outside of browsing, I can't even watch live streams online. I thought upgrading would be cheaper than buying a whole new computer, even with black friday deals would cost at least 500. Could i just use this power supply?

The problem is that the emachine is proprietary to the company and does not fit ATX formfactor which is what the internal components you've listed for the upgrade. In short I don't think the holes of the motherboard will line up with the screws in the emachine.

I thought my emachines was Micro ATX and the upgrade I was looking at was as well. I had trouble finding exact measurements. So are you saying there would be no way to upgrade my current pc? If I built a whole new pc would the listed items work and what else would I need?

I'm sorry I misread your post. I thought you were purchasing a graphics card. If that case is atx form factor you shouldn't have any issues and you can keep your existing power supply!
