Help!!

Im trying to install my i7 cpu into my gigabyte mobo...

The cpu fits perfectly into it but when i go to close the top peice before i can latch it, it like really pushes down on the cpu and i hear like metal scraping together lol wtf! Im scared to push it down.

Hello deadhaven,

can you please post the details of the components you are using. I have had an installation before where I have had to press down hard to lock the CPU into place (even after numerous re-adjustments). I can understand your concerns though as you are dealing with some expensive components here.

This may sound like a dumb question, but did you remember to take off the plastic cover on the bottom of the CPU?

is there a post of instructions on what to do or what not to do While assembling....would be a big help if someone can share that link....Thanx in advance
