New build.

My usb mouse will not work when I start windows xp unless I take it out and replug it back in, then it works. I have tried multiple mice with the same effect. Once I even had the keyboard not work, till I replugged it. Any suggestions? However... I believe I had both mouse and keyboard both work when I restarted the computer (windows: restart). From a cold-start the mouse fails.

Mildly annoying. Are there bios settings I need to look at? (I have not messed around with the bios since turning it on. For the record it booted perfectly. Yay no obscure failures.)

Specs:

EVGA 680i LT
E6600
EVGA 8800GTS
Corsair DDR800
Windows XP

Oh, and did anyone have a problem getting analog surround sound to work with their motherboard? I don't have optical SPDIF connector on my speakers (only coax) so no digital to my 6 year old (but perfectly working) sound system damn motherboard optical connector. I only get prologic on the analog (is that normal)

Thanks all!

I assume that you have the latest chipset drivers installed for all motherboard components, as well as the drivers for your mouse and sound system? You may need to reinstall the drivers for the integrated usb controller. If that's not the issue, go into Device Manager and check to see if there are any yellow exclamation marks/question marks which would indicate an unidentified motherboard component or a hardware conflict.
