Hey, where can we buy 4 GB ddr ram sticks? We dont want ddr2 or ddr3 just ddr ram sticks. Do we have to special order them? and how much would they cost?

E-bay would be my recommendation. They will probably be refurb.

Don't think they made DDR that big. Motherboards weren't meant to have that much RAM that big way back then. How old of a system are you trying to put this in

Looks like 4 gig might be a serious problem, tho...this is OLD, OLD memory, and it's looking like 1 gig sticks were 'high capacity' back then.

The largest DDR DIMM manufactured was 1GB.

Good luck finding DDR sticks. They exist, but 4GB is asking too much I think.

They only made DDR 4GB in registered ECC server ram that is almost always not supported on regular desktop motherboards. 1GB sticks are the largest that can be used on most DDR motherboards..

Oh, DDR can still be found if you know where to look. It's just that no new DDR has been manufactured in years, and the largest never exceeded 1GB (other than some ECC stuff intended for servers).

we are pulling these units from dell pentium 4 model computers. Windows XP Home edition 2004.

XP will only use 4GB total so 4 x 1GB would be appropriate.
