Hi guys I'm new to PC gaming and want a gaming pc that can play 1080p 60fps on most games for £400 (about $620) could you gu

Solution
Do you need an operating system? Trying to fit an operating system into any budget build is not fun. I'd look at transferring the one you already have across if that's at all possible. For example, without having to fork out £50-£70 for an OS you could get something like this -

CPU - Arma is quite CPU intensive so you'll need an i5 minimum really. It's quite badly optimised and tends to run mostly off one core.
i5-4430 3.0ghz - £120.

Motherboard.. if it's just for playing games, not over clocking or doing anything out of the ordinary then you've got no need to spend more than £40 on one. Go for one of the H81 mobos and look closely at what features it actually has - don't just look at the cheapest one and think it's...

that will run minecraft perfectly but I doubt it will run arma 3

my friend has a 1500 dollar pc and it has a 280x and a 4440 and it struggles to run it 1080p and high settings

you would need to be willing to spend more like 800.

I build one that was quite good for 800 dollars.

just click edit and change/remove any parts you don't want but stick with the motherboard and graphics card the mobo is really efficient and reliable (I have one and im loving it) and the gpu because msi has an overclocking app for it to overclock it quite well.

good luck and have fun

The thing is, that if you want to run games in 1080P you need to have a very strong gpu, I'd say that 8-16gb ram and a 4 core. But I don't see any sense in buying such a strong computer, as HD looks really great even in medium even low graphics. If you're really that much bothered about playing it on highest, I'd suggest to look on Alienware and build your OWN computer on their site.

Go for one of the H81 mobos and look closely at what features it actually has - don't just look at the cheapest one and think it's cheap because it's crap - chances are it's the same model as higher ones in the line just without certain features (most of the time these are features you don't even need, like hdmi ports, extra PCI expansion slots etc).
GigaByte GA-H81M-H - £35

GPU - I'd go for an nVidia GPU for Arma3, they run a lot better with this particular game than AMD do. Best bang for buck you'll get here is the GTX 750ti at about £110.

Memory - try and stick to 8GB - you're looking at £55 for decent 8GB RAM.

Now that the essential parts are out of the way that leaves you £80 to spend on a case, power supply and hard drive. Easily doable with a cheap case for about £20. Power Supply.. 750ti is a very power efficient GPU so you shouldn't need to spend more than £40 on a PSU. I don't see your requirements for a 1TB HDD so just go with 250GB/320GB.

Like I said though, Arma3 is a bit of a hog. You'll be saving yourself a lot of pain by getting an i5 and nVidia graphics card though. 60FPS at highest settings is not really achievable, but you should be able to find a sweet spot by adjusting the settings to get yourself as close to that 60FPS mark as you need.

There's a lot of hints and tips regarding Arma3 on how to improve performance with modifying config files, patches etc. so have a look into them if you want to get the most out of your system.

Solution
1080p. No problem? Graphic settings? low, mid, high, very high, ultra. This is what the question should honestly.

if you are aiming for high, the cards like 750ti, 260x will give you somewhere around 30 fps, playable but not very awesome for high end games. However you can play mid settings without issues u should get a nice 35-40 fps. Now if you want you can 720p High setting and achieve the 35-40 fps. If you want some better firepower, invest a few more and get the R7 265.

Good luck.

This is what i propose. You will get your 1080p very high ultra setting with this 😀
