Hi, I am looking to buy a processor that is better than my current one. I'm looking to spend around 400ish as the max and I prefer intel processors. My PC specs are
CPU: Intel i3 9100f coffeelake
GPU: Nvidia gtx 1660 super oc
SSD: Kingston A400 480g
HDD: N/A
RAM: Corsair vengeance LPX 2400mhz 2x8 gb (16gb)
Mother board: Z-390 APRO
Power Supply: 500watt bronze semi modular.
Any help is much appreciated and 400 max is in Australian dollars.

What is the resolution of your monitor?

If at 1080p or even some titles at 1440p, your GPU may be heald back by your CPU in some titles.

I believe my monitor is 1080p and I am looking to upgrade my processor, do you have any suggestions for those? Im looking to spend around $400 Australian dollars. Thanks for your help!

Ah in Australia.

For that money, the best you can get is a 9600k, which is fine however its 6 threads may struggle in the most recent demanding games.

You may want to wait until Intel's 10th generation CPUs go on sale. You can then sell your old board and CPU to get a new superior i5 and LGA1200 motherboard which should be possible in your budget.

Sorry. I missed that.
Intel Core I5-9600K, but you may want to wait until Intel's Comet Lake series is released. That MAY lower the cost of current 9th Gen processors.
