"Hibernate" not available at shutdown

Why would the option to hibernate NOT be available at
shutdown? In its place is a "Standby" icon and it is
grayed-out (disabled). I have checked the power settings
and they're OK ...

Hi,

Please see: http://users.westelcom.com/rogersr/standby.htm Once you get
standby back, you may be able to use hibernate as well by hitting the shift
key when you pull up the shutdown menu.
