Hiding an entire group of a certain file type

i'm trying to find a way to hide an entire type of files...for example how
would i go about hiding any files with the file extension .doc....? thanx for
the help

What do you mean by hide?
You can rename them all (file extender), but the documents are still there.
They wont be associated with Word.
You can remove the file association, but the files are still there.
Or you can get an encryption program and encrypt them so they can't be
accessed without the password.
Or get a USB memory key, store them on it. Remove the key and the docs
aren't there.
But remember the file list shows last used documents- it can see they've
been used.
