High CPU Temperatures!

Hi all!

I brought the i7 4790K some time ago and have installed an CM Seidon liquid cooler to it.
I have noticed that when I do some intense 3D work and simulations, the CPU temperatures rise up to 100 degrees! I know this is not supposed to happen.
I am just wondering can this be because I am not using a graphics card? I didn't have a budget for a decent graphics card so I decided to wait a while. Should I get 1 soon?

Please let me know soon since I don't want to damage the processor.

Thanks in advance!

Solution
The integrated video card should not add that much heat to a system.

Please make sure your pump is running full speed(connect it to the power supply if you can or use a fan header with speed control off).

If you are overclocked, revert to stock speeds for now.

Correction- I have a old graphics card on, some 4-5 years and its a cheap low end one. Can that be the problem.

I have checked the fans, clamps, thermal paste, pump is also at full speed! I even changed the paste once and the temperature very town by around 5 degrees that's it. And now its back to 100!

Actually not very hot. Just warm. I am doing some intense simulations right now, the cpu temps are at 100 stable, mobo is at an average of 54. The pump is flowing liquid and the brick and rad are both not hot.

OK so something is stopping the heat going from the CPU at 100c to the block. Pressure or something in the way. There's no chance that you're got spacers you shouldn't have, so it's clamping on the spacer and not the CPU?

Actually, innitially I had the stock cooler on. But due to high temps I switched to this cooler. But there is no temp change.
Can it be a faulty chip?
I am sorry but I donot know what a spacer it.
