Question High cpu usage

Hi so my gf has a pc that ran fine for a while.some problems began to occur and was looking for help on what to do. Her cpu usage is almost always at 100% no matter what. And when playing games she will get random frame drops down to like 5 FPS. Her specs are.
Intel i5 3470 3.2ghz
Asus z68a-g45 (B3) motherboard
2 Nvidia GeForce gtx 950s (sli)
650 watt psu

Ideally you'd be better off with one GTX970 as opposed to two. The high CPU usage can occur when you have an OS corruption if you're on Windows 8 or above. I'm assuming you're on Windows 10. Are you on the latest BIOS update for your motherboard?
