Question High End PC is dropping frames and stuttering when playing Rust ?

Hello I recently started experiencing frame drops/stutters on the server ive been playing on for the past week or so. It seems like every 5-10 seconds the game stutters slightly and the frames drop anywhere from 10-25 frames for that split moment, and then it goes back to normal. Other than that I dont have any performance issues and get high FPS (144+), but I usually limit it to 144 as my monitor is 2k at 144 hz.

For reference my PC specs are as follows:

MBD: Asus Rog Strix 670
GPU: 4090
CPU: Ryzen 7800X3D
RAM: 32GB Corsair DDR5-6000 CL 30 running at 6000mhz
SSD: PCIe Gen 5 4TB M.2

I have tried tons of optimization guide on YouTube without success and also browsed other help forums for fixes without success.

I tested it on a UKN PVP server and did not notice stuttering. Also Rust is only game i have issues with. Everything is updated

Go into the NVidia control panel and limit your FPS (NOT IN GAME SETTINGS) to 140hz.

I'm guessing you have an 144hz Gsync-compatible monitor, which when you go too close to the max refresh rate (144) will actually disable gsync or mess it up. *It used to happen to me...

There is a trick to limit your max fps to just a few under (2-5fps) your refresh rate and, along with disabling vsync (again inside the nvidia control panel but also in game), which will keep it all buttery smooth.

TRY IT!

Thank you, but this did not work. Also i have g-sync disabled in nvidia control panel as well

Why is it disabled? Is your monitor not gsync?
no my monitors are g sync compatible, its just i think g sync limits your fps, no??? plus every optimization guide ive ever watched says to turn off v sync g sync or if you have free sync to basically just turn them all off unless youre experiencing screen tearing.
