Hi

I have a GTX 1070 and an Intel core i5 9600k. I want to use OBS studio to record, but am getting a black screen. I was told changing OBS graphics preference to power saving (so it runs off my CPUs integrated graphics) would fix the black screen.

The issue is I realised that both the power saving setting and the high performance setting both use the GTX 1070. I have no idea how to change that.

Any help would be appreciated.

Solution
You can force Nvidia Optimus Switching on/off for specific applications inside the Nvidia Driver Software. Try that.

I wouldn't really trust what that screenshot of Windows' power management is seemingly telling you.

So you achieved the desired result....

you completely misread the post. the power saving option should be my CPUs integrated graphics and the high performance option should be the GTX 1070. For some reason both of the options are the GTX 1070 which means I am not able to change OBS setting and therefor am stuck with an OBS blackscreen.
