Question HIgh Ping after playing a game for 30 minutes - 1 hour.

Ive been noticing super high ping after playing an online game like fortnite for a while and then my ping spikes to 400-900 and stays there until I restart my game. I switched to ethernet and this stopped happening and so I am almost certain its my usb wifi adapter. Can someone explain how to fix this? ... and why does it return to normal after I restart my game?

WIFI adapters, especially usb wifi adapters have a tendency to overheat. It probably better to use a pci adapter or to use your phone for usb tethering. Personally, I use my phone to usb tether while gaming

Thanks for your response, how should I usb tether? I plugged a usb into my phone and PC and opening network settings on my phone but it says the usb is not connected and its just charging.
