Hi, so i was using my PC as normal the other day, i turned it off and that was it for the day. next day i get back, set up my new desk and rearrange my PC wires and start it up again. but once i launched a game it starts to make a whining/buzzing/squeaking sound. seems to be coming from the CPU area of the motherboard. ive stopped all the fans in my PC and its none of them making the noise. in some games like Euro truck simulator 2 turning ON Vsync seems to make the noise alot quieter but i still dont understand why. i have no idea what caused this and if it is dangerous to my other components on my PC as i have spent alot of money on it and dont want to risk breaking anything on it. I shall list my specs below.

CPU - i7 7700k 4.2 GHz

GPU - Gigabyte GTX 1080 8gb

Mobo - GIGABYTE Z270X ULTRA Gaming

RAM - Corsair vengence DDR4 2400MHz 16GB

PSU - cooler master 700W silent pro

Hard drive - 2tb (dont know the make)

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for replying. today i changed to my 1060 GPU and was getting the same noise but on a quieter scale, so im sure that means its not my GPU as it still made the noise? i now have my 1080 back inside and is making the louder noise again, so would you think its louder because its more powerful?

Really appreciate these replies. So am i alright to play games on my pc even though they create the loud noise coming from CPU area? (im going to get a new motherboard anyway as the noise is very annoying)
