So, i just bought an i7 4770k with a gtx 1070. Now all thats left is to buy a display. Im not planing on buying a fancy gaming display from Asus and stuff. ill just buy a decent widescreen display(60 hz). So, my real question is should i buy a 1440p display or a 1080p display. My main target is hitting 60fps( plesase dont consider my specs for now).Which will be better, playing on high with some settings turned down on 1440p or playing with all settings on ultra on 1080p??

Solution
The thing is, there is very little perceivable improvement in quality going from high to ultra settings in games, but it costs you usually more than 25-30 FPS of performance.

The best thing is to go 1440p@60FPS and then balance the graphics settings for the best results. In most cases you'll do fine at high/ultra settings at 1440p anyways though. But it doesn't take more than balancing a few graphics settings when it doesn't.
