HL2 delay?!?

No new footage was shown at ECTS, but that didn't stop Valve from dropping a tid-bit of information to help quite the defening rumors of Half Life 2 being delayed.

True you can say this is 2nd hand information, but you can decide for yourself. Here is the <A HREF="http://eurogamer.net/article.php?article_id=53027" target="_new"> ARTICLE </A>. I hope that they finish on time, but undrstand if they can't. All that a delay means is we get a very polished game, but have to exercise our patience. Good Luck Valve!

Valve has stated numerous times that the game is complete/nearing completion. The hold up is with Vivendi Universal, the publisher. They're trying to be a bunch of scum bags and hold out in order to cash in on the holiday craziness.

Yeah, this is really gonna suck. Nevertheless, if Vivendi wants to be a bunch of b*tches, then that just gives Valve more time to consider polishing up the game a little more and add fine detail finishing touches that make it forever a classic title.

I'm worrried that the Ti 4200 cards I just purchased won't even run this game in Medium Quality according to that reveiw of that one DX9 game that Sargeduck showed us.

UFO your 4200 should be able to run at medium detail it just wont have the DX 9 eye candy. But from recent reports (Tomb Raider) it appears that no NV hardware will be able to give you the FR and quality of a Radeon. Poor Nvidia 🙁 But dont get me wrong. You'll still be able to enjoy the game. Thats the good thing about Valve is that the have made their games pretty scalable. thus allowing more people the enjoy of their great products.

As for me I'm fixing to buy a new computer for college and going to either get a 9700 pro or 9800 pro or NP can't really decide. Its taken me a long time to save up so I'm pretty anxious and Im trying to be patient.

I know i can turn on all details and effects but i'm expecting a slide show. EEEEEER

Yeah I heard that the 5200 was P.O.S. why even sell a GPU if it cant produce enogh frames in
DX 9 to be playable?

Just Nvidia cashing in on it claims that it can run DX9. They need to wake up! Their reputation among gamers is going down the pot with each Benchmark and each non-satisfied customer that they sucker into buying their hardware.

Yeah I've had it from Nvidia. I think It'l take me somewhere between 3 months to 2 years to forgive them for what they've gotten away with since the introduction of the GeForce4 MX!!!

really don't care that much, money is always the issue.
At least i was able to play UT2003 with all effects on and medium details and was able to reach more than 50fps. @ 800*600 in my 15" display

I would have to agree that the GF2 MX200 sucked BUTT; however, the regular GeForce2 MX had twice as much bandwidth as the MX200 and the MX400 was even better than the regular MX. Alot of budget conscious gamers here along time ago bought GeForce2 MX cards and were able to run pretty much any DirectX 7 title fine. I thought the GeForce 2 MX (with obvious exception of the MX200) was the best budget part that Nvidia ever made PERIOD. It was able to offer the full feature set of its bigger brothers. The GeForce2 Mx was the only one worthy of its title.
