Every one as heard about the new slot pci express that will double the
bandwith from the mobo to the VCard. Here it is the new fx5300 will be
able to take advantage from this new slot.

For witch customer is it for.

That message was only to bounce bacl from a previous that was

Current graphics cards don't even use the potential bandwidth of an AGP
2.0 (4x) slot, let alone the AGP 3.0 (8X) standard a lot of us are
running now.

PCI Express (DON'T CALL IT PCI-X, those are for workstation/server
boards and won't be compatible with desktops)

only offers a new industry standard in finally ridding the desktop,
server, and workstation line of motherboards from ever having to use a
33Mhz PCI bus ever again.

If you purchase a PCI Express equipped mobo upon release, it will only
feature 2 or 3 PCI-E slots, one PCI-E slot specified for a video card,
and the rest (either 2 or 3 slots) will be standard PCI.

Whether backwards compatability will be an option, I'm not sure, but
I'm hoping it isn't.

The IO bridge/Southbridge have always been a bottleneck in developing
storage mediums with more bandwidth, and finally this won't be an issue.

Here's a PDF on PCI Express :

bandwidth doubled or tripled. The 5300 is still the same 5200 with only
a 20 Mhz higher core clock. So it just won't cut it (again). This reminds
me of the 4800 Ti story, everybody mentally fixed to numbers in the card
model thought it was faster than a 4600, which was a 8x AGP 4400 Ti.

No, the 4800 is an 8X 4600. A 4700 is an 8X 4400. But your point still
stands. A 4700 is slower than a 4600.
