Home server, looking for help to build:)

Wanting to build a cheap home server for hosting a few game servers, my ts server and also as a way to stream media around the house. I was looking at preowned Xeon processors, maybe a E5 2650 which is around £50 referbed or e5 2670 at £100, inhave a lot of spare old hard drives so I can use them, I want it to be slightly quiet and not use a huge amount of power, thank you

"server" is a function and software, not a box or CPU.

You need to look at what the requirements are for the game servers you wish to host.
Build to that. And do NOT lock yourself in to the concept of 'server = Xeon'.

Well what would be a good place to start?? Literally won't be intense games really.

Look up the requirements of the game servers you are looking to run.
It is probably less than you might think.

Start from there.
