home streaming PC

Sooo, I want to make an attempt at a streaming PC. I want to hook it up to my TV and use it to watch things like netflix, browse the web etc. What do I actually need? I'm figuring 8gb of RAM but do I need anything amazing in the way of a GPU? Do I need a good CPU? Ideally I'd stick a AMD FX CPU because it's cheap or maybe an i3. Anyway, thanks for the help.
