www.tomshardware.com/forum/277977-33-understanding-nvidia-video-card-numbers
I read it, and it is a bit outdated .. basically im wondering for the new line of cards that are only 3 digits long.
i have a gtx n660 TF.
Ok so i get the TF is just the fan right? and OC is just a "pre overclocked" model.
whats the N for? is it only 660/670/680 then they move on? anyone know where i can check what year a card was made? (my card do you know?)
(bonus question.. how much should i sell the card for to an acquaintance that i don't want to rip off.. but i want to get my moneys worth..)
sorry you search for something and too much stuff im not looking for comes up. i really did try.. im sure i could find out (will find out) what the N stands for before my post is answered.. and possibly if 60/70/80 is the only variations of each generation.. (or at least the important models, i seem to only hear about versions with those numbers after them.. may be just the times i look at graphics cards is about the same time of year or some bs?)
BUT i would (and im sure he would) .. feel better / more willing to buy if i could explain some of this crap and show a revelent / recent post in regards to the specific card in this post.
again since its not 100% written i own a
MSI N660 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 660 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

different from
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814127756
(they are different despite the link not showing that fully since TH cuts it off!)
(whats the difference? the TF? why is my card retired / not sold and the other 660 is, is my card bad? maybe this question is best unanswered(asked?) haha)
..Thanks...
