[SOLVED] How bad is my bottleneck?

I run a system with a amd ryzen 3 2200g and a gygabyte 1660 GPU. Lately ive been hearing a lot of stuff about bottlenecks. How bad is this one if there even is one?

You can tell if there is, by monitoring CPU, and GPU usage, while gaming. You may run into an issue, in titles that use more cores/threads, than your 2200g can provide, but otherwise should be ok.

There is no such thing as "bottlenecking"
If, by that, you mean that upgrading a cpu or graphics card can
somehow lower your performance or FPS.
A better term might be limiting factor.
That is where adding more cpu or gpu becomes increasingly
less effective.
There is always a limiting factor. In gaming, it is usually cpu speed or graphics.
Which will depend on the games you play.

Some games are graphics limited like fast action shooters.
Others are cpu core speed limited like strategy, sims, and mmo.
Multiplayer tends to like many threads.

Here is a simple test:
Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

I would guess that you are relatively well balanced.

The 4c/4t CPU is still relevant, but, it would be foolhardy to think it will generate the same frames/sec as an R5-2600, as the quad thread CPU will often take hits significant hits on minimum FPS..

The 1660 is a quite decent mid-range (1080P) GPU....; I'd look to get at least an R5-2600 if the almost optimum 3600 is too pricey. (flash your BIOS first!)

(The 2600 might be capable of saturating the 1660, but, you'd have more to gain later with a future GPU upgrade using a 3600)

Nowdays the bottleneck is more bad console ports and bad coding because CPU and GPU is available.

Anyways, your 2200G is fine if you don't play heavy online games like BFV 64 player which requires 6+ cores.
