It depends on your wow threshold. Yes it will shave seconds off boot time and game load times.
It also contributes to slightly quicker response and feel of WIndows. I would have it no other way.
But your mileage may vary.

You'll notice a small difference in speed and a slight increase in noise.

I hear my Raptor as much as my Maxtor 250mb 7200rpm drive, it also does not feel as warm as the 7200rpm drive either.

So do your have yours in RAID. I know RAID 0 isn't the most wise choice due to failure, but would a form of RAID 0 with RAID 1 (2x 74GB Raptors and 1 160GB HDD) be a possible way of accomplishing a safer, cost-efficient alternative?

BunnyFusion!!! It looks like there is no stopping bunny now.

I hate Maxtor. They're REALLY noisy. The raptor isn't quite that bad and it's a lot faster and probably cooler if you say so.

Moving data around I do notice the difference and you'll notice the difference in loading times for games.

I almost never see the little copy dialog box anymore unless I'm moving around gigs of data. I love my raptor. But had to RMA my first one as it only showed like 40 GIG when it was the 75GB model. I'm not sure, I probably fried something during my system build :)

15k?? SCSI?? you got a server? or a SCSI card in a rig?

well i guess this comes down to big storage or speed, i could get some 10k 74G drive (raptor i think) or a 7200 drive that is huge (same price)
