[SOLVED] How can I connect a UPS with RJ45 to CentOS and Ubuntu servers?

Hi everyone!
I got an old APC Back-UPS 650 BK650EI. I would like to connect it to one of my servers in order to shut them down if the battery is low. (If I'm able to get a battery in it). My problem is that the UPS has an RJ45 Ethernet port. Is it possible to use a USB to Ethernet adapter like this or do I need a special cable for the UPS?

You can buy genuine APC cables on E-Bay for less than $10. There are articles on the net with the pin-out so you could try to make one.

Unfortunately, it's not the same as what you linked above. It's an RJ-45 port, not USB type B.
