Do you have a NIC or wifi adapter? If not you can pick one up cheap or get EoP and use ethernet.

Sounds like you are mixing things up a bit. You don't use WiFi with an Ethernet cable, that is a wired connection. If you don't have a wireless option you may not have a wireless network card. A USB WiFi card is about $20-50 for a good model depending on your speed and range needs.

You need to look at the equipment your Internet Provider gave you. If you have a wireless connection, check to see what letter the wireless is b, c, n. It may help when you buy a wireless adapter.
