Hi guys, so I started building my new pc and tried to boot it up for the first time, and it started and then 5 beeps came from the speaker. Then the system kept restarting and doing the same thing. All of the fans run (even the cpu cooler) and the GPU begins to run, but the computer just won't boot. Please help I have no idea!!!!
CPU- Intel I5-7600K 3.8Ghz
GPU- AMD Radeon RX 480
Motherboard- GIGABYTE H110M-S2H

Solution

basically yes, or if you can borrow a sky lake CPU off a mate for 5 mins, long enough to flash the bios on your board then that will get it working.

The shop your brought it from may do it for free for you, try contact them.

Or you can pay a shop a small fee to do it for you.

Failing that, get a Sky Lake CPU instead or get a 200 series motherboard, this problem comes up all the time here.

Start here and do all these steps:

Not just read and assume it is OK...actually touch and verify.

According to Gigabyte's BIOS beep code page: http://www.gigabyte.com/Support/Faq/816

5 short beeps means a CPU error. Did you potentially bend any pins when installing? Your CPU will have a small golden triangle on one corner that matches up with a small indented triangle in another corner- but a better guide for install would be the small rectangular bracket-like protrusions in the socket that guide the sides of the CPU. If you're completely sure all these things are done, did you touch the back of the CPU? Contact has the potential for static discharge, and getting oil/moisture on the contact points. If you're sure you properly handled the CPU in install, then disassemble your system, re-install the CPU, following all the steps slowly and carefully. Make sure you're wearing an anti-static wrist-strap, or if you do not own one of these, stand on a solid, non-carpeted floor with no socks, touch your case's edge and then proceed with install.

*EDIT*

Also, I didn't notice earlier, but H110 boards only naturally support Skylake 6th gen processors. You'll typically have to update BIOS using an older CPU. 😛

So I tried rebuilding the whole thing and it still did the same thing. It starts for 25 seconds and the speaker goes 5 times and then restarts. I only have one stick of RAM but moved it to the other slot and it did the same thing, however I moved it to the other slot and it only took around 7 seconds to turn off, instead of the 25 before. One thing that happens which is odd is something orange is glowing on the motherboard. Now whether that is part of the design or it means a problem I am not sure. I did not statically discharge myself when putting the CPU in, however I did avoid the back of it. I am positive I aligned it correctly and have checked for any bent pins, however they all look in good shape
My CPU is 7th generation, so I don't think I'll need to update the BIOS

Did you try both stick of RAM individually? Saw someone else with a similar issue on this board and it seemed to be RAM that was the issue.
The reason it could be the bios, is that the H110 chipset was originally designed for Skylake 6xxx chips, not the Kaby Lake 7xxx chips. So the bios versions released before Kaby Lake won't work. According to Gigabyte, bios versions before F20 are not supported by Kaby Lake processors.

You are using a 7th generation CPU (Kaby Lake) in a 6th generation Motherboard (SKY Lake) that only supports 7th gen with a bios update which the board probably doesnt ship with, you need a Sky Lake CPU to upgrade the bios or you need a 200 Series motherboard, that board you have need to have at least bios version: F20 on it before that CPU will work in it, and I seriously doubt it came off the shelf with that bios version on it, this has already been mentioned by atomicdonut.

Have a look at the bios section here: http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-H110M-S2H-rev-10#support-dl

Sounds like it to me, sometimes on the sticker on the side of the box, where the barcodes are, they put what bios version ships with the board it will be F?

Like I said, it needs the last bios they released for that board, F20.

Out of the box, generally 100 series motherboards dont ship with Kaby Lake support, they expect people to know they really need a 200 series board, latest CPU, latest chipset, im surprised shops dont warn you of this when buying expensive parts like this.

Like you said yoursel, 5 beeps, CPU fault, it doesnt know that CPU that you put in it.

No need to be sorry, thats what we are all here for, to help each other out.

Yes you can do that, but call the place you brought it from 1st, they may do it for free for you as they sold you the stuff.
