Here's the problem. I have the monitor set at 75hz which is available, but in a game I was monitoring the fps and getting a steady 60.
Is there a way to verify the refresh rate other than what is set in the display properies?
Maybe a small app that gives a reading as such?

Thanx for the help in advanc, this thing is killing my eyes.

Most monitors have a setting on screen display controlled by monitor that will list the refresh rates. Check your out and see it it is not buried in the menus.

And the sign says "You got to have a membership card to get inside" Huh
So I got me a pen and paper And I made up my own little sign</pre><p></font color=red>

It's a Sony Trinitron Multiscan 17sfII,,, and as far as I can tell there is no on screen menus other than:
color, geom,size, and center.
All have their own button and only 1 or 2 adjustments.
There's a reset button ,but it's the kind you have to push in with a pen,, and I don't think that gives you any menus either.

That monitor must be old, like 7+ years or more. If your does not have an on-screen display then I am not sure how to septrately verify refresh rate the monitor is actually recieving and displaying.

To try and sync your fps with the hz of your monitor you will need to enable vsync in the game. You won't be able to visually see a difference between 60fps and 75fps though so don't worry about it.

w/o an OSD you will not be able to easily see your monitors actual hz. It would require some fancy equipment that just isn't worth it :)
