I think it can link with Ruby and Sapphire. There's a small amount of
speculation that it's also compatible with Pokemon Box for GameCube. And,
yeah, it does have better graphics. Same goes for Leaf Green, which is
actually an update of Blue, which was Green in Japan.

As different as Pokemon Red was from Pokemon Blue.

Pretty much, but there are a lot of new, small additions, like the berry
stuff from R/S, pokemon from G/S/C and R/S, things like that.
