How do i activate display properties in windows xp with command prompt

I recently changed hard drive and installed windows xp, but I cannot get the higher resolution and cannot monitors and properties is greyed out. would appreciate help from anyone who encountered the problem before.

Make sure you have the video drivers installed. sounds like you do not and that is why the option to change the resolution is greyed out and unavailable for adjustment.
