How do I choose the right Graphics card

I am looking to upgrade my Graphics Card and wondered what was compatible with what I have. I have purchased the latest train sim from USA. The Railworks sim states that I need 64 MB with Pixel Shader 2.00"
(AGP PCIe only).

Sorry, but your PC is too old to consider an upgrade. Save your money for a new PC. A budget PC at around 500$ would be alot (and i mean A lot) more powerfull than what you have now.

Does your processor meet the minimum requirements for that game?

Do you know what speed your AGP slot is? x8 or x4?

Thats way more card than you need to run that game but you should be able to max it out with it.

Do you know what type of power supply you have?

I was reading the specs posted and the stuff was so old I couldn't even comprehend what he was talking about. Then again Im sort of new to PC gaming

All he needs is a AGP card to run the game.The game isn't very demanding at all so if he upgrade to a new GPU he shouldn't have any problems playing it.

Sure he can get an old 3850 AGP. But it's a waste of money upgrading a system that old IMO.

It's $20.I wouldn't have reccomended it if i thought it was a waste of money.Sure that computers really old but i don't think the OP wants to spend $500 just to play Railworks.lol.

That would be almost as bad as someone spending $300 on a cell phone to play a PS1 emulator.......wait that was me ooops
