How do I choose the right Graphics card

I am looking to upgrade my Graphics Card and wondered what was compatible with what I have. I have purchased the latest train sim from USA. The Railworks sim states that I need 64 MB with Pixel Shader 2.00"
(AGP PCIe only).

I was reading the specs posted and the stuff was so old I couldn't even comprehend what he was talking about. Then again Im sort of new to PC gaming

Sure he can get an old 3850 AGP. But it's a waste of money upgrading a system that old IMO.
