Question How do i enable m.2 controller in the bios

So i tried to install an m. 2 drive but after launching my computer and checking bios and disk management i couldn't find the drive. However when i try to install windows 10 the drive show up in the window setup and i can allowcate the space but when i try to install window on it i get a warning telling me i need to enable the controller for the drive in the bios. I don't how to enable the controller for the m.2 in my bios and was wondering if anyone can help me.

My parts are:
Motherboard: Gigabyte H97 Gaming 3
M.2: 256GB Biostar M.2 SSD

  1. Is there a specific BIOS update that allows booting from that M.2 port? Most H97 boards did not have that functionality.
  2. You're aware that the M.2 port will only run an NVMe drive at 1/3 speed at best.

Well, that drive won't be significantly hampered in that PCIe x2 port.

The further question is...can your H97 motherboard boot from that drive?
Maybe, maybe not.

Unless you can find some specific documentation that says Yes...then it probably cannot.
Boards of that vintage were released just as NVMe drives were bocoming a thing. As such, a LOT of them lack any functionality to boot from one.
A low end H97 even less likely to.
