Question How do I fix mouse cursor screen tearing ?

idk how to explain it but like its screen tearing that happens above my cursor and when i move my cursor up the screen tearing tries to stay above my cursor.

i already tried turning on vsync (ps: it doesn't just happen on games) and it lasts a random intervcal (i think it lasted a minute one time).

does anyone know a fix or what this type of tearing is called so i can research it?

i t happens randomly, and usually not while in fullscreen. It only started happening after I reinstalled Windows because of a seperate issue. yes i tried turning on nvidia vsync, yes i tried forcing dedicated gpu, i dont know how to fix it.

From my understanding, screen tearing doesn't happen from your mouse cursor.

When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:

include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.

Does it do it on the laptop screen or you have an external monitor? After you reinstall Windows, did you install the Nvidia graphics driver? If it started doing it right after the OS reinstall it's likely a graphics driver issue. You could try to remove all the graphics drivers (Nvidia, AMD and Intel) with DDU and reinstall the Nvidia one, ideally the 566.36 to rule out any problems with the recent Nvidia driver issues.

If you reinstall Windows and haven't installed Nvidia driver, it's likely the cause of your problem. Go here:

and download the version for laptop. Execute the installer and follow the instructions.

As I said, you should start with installing the graphics driver. It's useless to keep troubleshooting this problem if you don't even have a proper display driver installed on the laptop.

And do you still have the problem? And what about my other questions? When does it happen exactly? Web browser? Games? You wrote that it doesn't happen in full screen. What does this mean exactly? That it only happens in reduced windows? If it only happens in your web browser you could try to disable hardware acceleration in the browser settings.

its not onlyu browser
its never happened mid game
its everything that isnt fullscreenh or borderless
