[SOLVED] How do I get display from my second PCIE 3.0X16 Slot on my B550 Unify?

Trying to get some sort of display output using my second PCIE 3.0 X16 slot on my mobo. I can't seem to get it to work. Trying to run 2 GPU's on this mobo without a riser. Is this possible?

If you've got an SSD in the second M.2 socket it won't work as it's using the PCIe lanes of the second PCIe slot.

IMAGE - So if I have an m.2 installed in m2_4 the second GPU wont work? If I move the SSD to M2_2, would it work then?

Would I have to tinker with any settings in the bios in order to get the second GPU to show up on device manager Wolf?

I cant seem to get the second GPU to show up in the second slot. Any ideas why? Already moved the single M.2 ssd, so that can't be it. Trying to mine with my brothers 3070 in my system, just for fun. Neither device manager nor Nicehash seem to identify the second GPU

Move the RTX 3070 to the top PCI-Ex16 slot and leave the other slot empty. Is the card functional?

Yes it works completely fine when I move it to the top slot. Both cards work fine when at the top slot. Seems like I have a dead lower slot? I also checked in the bios if the second slot is being occupied but it says empty, but recognises the 3080 in the first slot.

The M.2 SSD that you moved. Is that where your OS was installed? If not, then with only one card installed, try clearing CMOS.

I do have a secondary OS saved in the SSD I moved but I do not use that for boot and have that queued second for boot in bios. I'm gonna try removing the SSD and clearing CMOS.

Hey Wolf, thanks for all your help but I think my the slot is dead or faulty. Nothing seems to work. Will have to RMA it.

Remove all your M.2 drives.
Install single graphics card in second PCIE x16 slot only.
Test then.

BTW - how much M.2 drives are you using?

Never even considered that option. I mean if you can run an x16 card via adapter through an x1 slot... and isn't this what miners are doing?

I thought mining is different. Not a miner, so I'm not sure.

update: nothing from the site but a google search said mining is not about bandwidth.

I didn't think you were referring to an application specific scenario. I just thought that if miners are using PCIE4.0 cards in x1 slots, why wouldn't a PCIE4.0 card work in an x16(x4) slot? I don't know either!
