So I'm buying a pretty sweet sound system off my step brother for my computer. It connects from the amplifier to my computer via hdmi. The only HDMI ports I have on my computer are the mini hdmi's on my 480s. How would I go about outputting sound through my VGAs?

ummm I could be wrong, but I don't think there are mini hdmis and according to my sound system, and experience, (I just googled it and looked in my sound card, lol) only normal hdmi from graphics cards work for audio... I'll be interested to see how this turns out... and it would either be Plug 'n' play or start with it plugged in on boot...

Nvidia video cards are not designed for audio in mind with their HDMI ports. You are better off using a sound card. Only ATI 5000 series properly takes advantage of HDMI audio.
