Hello,

I am bringing my computer up to speed, and I recently acquired a new GPU Rtx 4060 ti which is now really restrained by my old i7 7700 cpu.

As I am not really familiar with the compatibilities between cpu , motherboard and all that so here I am.

How do I know if my motherboard [ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. GD30CI] is able to receive a new cpu like i7 13700 or 14700 ?

here is a link to the latest benchmark I did,

Thanks so much in advance.

You're the best :)

Your motherboard uses a H270 chipset. Compatible CPUs for that chipset can be found here:

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/98090/intel-h270-chipset/compatible.html

That being said, you have the strongest CPU that can be used with that motherboard.

As the overall system is fairly standard, you could swap in a more modern/up to date motherboard and replace the CPU with a much newer generation model.
Thank you for your answer, I'll look into it ;)

Please please take bench marks with a grain of salt. If the PC is doing what you want and there is no glitching or issues that's what you should look for the most.

Not saying an upgrade would be off the table. The only CPU maybe would be a xeon with more cores but as I have not had a hands on with your motherboard so I have no verified xeon that I could say drop in and tell you sure get the bla bla bla model xeon.

Your I7 7700 is at the top of the food chain for the consumer CPU back than.
