How do i play games on my laptop???

Hello, I have an HP Pavilion Entertainment Laptop with Windows Vista Home Premium, AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-58,1.9GHz, with 2GB of ram, 32 bit Perating System, and I'm unable to play any pc games. Is there something i NEED TO DOWNLOAD BEFORE I CAN PLAY GAMES???
