So, my GPU is the only thing that appears to not be working on my new build. When I connected my display to the GPU, no signal. When I connected it to my mob's video output, I got video.
I'm inclined to think I didn't seat the card properly and that is the cause.
So, first question: How hard do I need to press the GPU into its slot? Is it like RAM, which requires a pretty significant degree of force? When I placed the card in its slot, I just kind of nudged it in and I heard an audible "click," but I couldn't tell if that was it being seated properly or just the creaking and groaning of parts as they are installed.
I will say that the gold connectors are still very visible (a big part of why I think it isn't seated properly). It almost looks like the card is just kind of sitting on its connecting point, but not actually inserted.
Second question: If it is seated properly, are there any other troubleshooting methods I should utilize before deeming the card DoA? I've already used the HDMI and one DVI connector to try the video output. No dice.
