I am building a PC for my friend. He wants to hook it up to wifi instead of ethernet. It will be running Windows 10 (if that matters). I am thinking of using the "TP-Link TL-WN781ND 802.11b/g/n PCI-Express x1 Wi-Fi Adapter". It says it works with 802.11b/g/n. How do I tell if this will work with his wifi? THANKS!!

Well, that adapter will work just just about every router made in the past 5 years.

Better yet - how about you find out the model of his router so we can better help.

It is the Linksys E2500 N600 Dual-Band Wireless Router

yep that an N based wireless router, that adapter will work. do you know what download speeds he has there? if he has more than say 45 you would really want to get an adapter that can use the 5ghz frequency if it is enabled since 2.4 maxes out at say 45 mbps down. 5ghz does not travel that far so it depends on the distance too.

We don't have a provider that provides speeds that fast, he has like 3mb/s or something like that. Lol :)
