The main idea is in the title. I have a practically ancient HP 2000 Notebook. I recently did a full factory reset on it and have upgraded to Windows 8.1. I spent a while on the phone with a Microsoft rep overseas somewhere to no avail. I know that I can switch back and forth in tablet mode in Windows 10, but I have no more ideas for 8.1. Please help and thanks in advance!

I used to use Start Menu 8. It will bring back the classic start menu.
Another called Classic Shell if you're interested.

Thanks a million! I didn't think that there might be third-party software for just this scenario. Classic Shell is working beautifully.
