how do theater screens play movies at 2k resolution so sharp?

a 47inch FULLHD tv is sharper than a 55inch tv. both have same pixel number but the only difference is the pixels per inch which is more in 47inch tv than a 55inch. now in a theater the screen is so huge and wide that play movies usually at 2k resolution. dont you think for a screen that big the ppi is way too less yet how does it appear sharp?
