How does Adware keep getting on my computer?

I own two computers, and recently I have been getting adware on them. Specifically chrome extensions that are adware. One of the computers I barely use, but when I do use it, I log on only to find that there is adware in chrome. Could this be an infection of my router? If so how can I remove it?

You're likely not getting rid of it. Browser hijackers especially can be hard to get rid of. Run through the malware guide in my signature. Then reboot your computer, and sign on with a different user account. Create a new user account, then restart and log on with that new user account. Copy over your internet favorites, desktop icons, or whatever else you might want, and then delete that old user account.

That should take care of it.

I already have malwarebytes pro

I'm have not installed anything recently. And I have looked through all of my programs and none of them, that i can tell, are malicious. They are all by trusted companies.

Trusted companies or no, they often install other things as well as the application you want.
Generally, this happens if you just select all the defaults when installing something.

But in any case, it is not the router.
