How does one phone cause me so much lag

when ever my brothers phone connects to our router, i just cant play online games because i just get disconnected from the lag.


Our set up is a TP link router connected to the modem/router that our ISP gave us. My connects to the modem/router while i am connected to the TP Link Router. I can still access the Router page for both routers though.

Only the TP Link Router has QoS.


Is there any ways i can have a stable connection even if he is connected?

Having read your post, I think that phone uses too much bandwidth. You can enter the settings of your router and cap it by device, read here:

So you have two routers, one plugged into the other, the phone connects to the first router, and your computer connects to the second?

Do you know exactly which routers they are, and are you are both connecting wirelessly? Also, have you tried connecting your computer using an ethernet cable, and seeing if the issue still occurs, or have you tried both connecting to the same router? And how fast (and what kind) is the Internet plan you subscribe to?
