Question How good is T480 actually

Hello everyone, I was recently looking for a ThinkPad and came across the T480. I'm wondering if this laptop model is actually good, because I've seen people say it's a beast and works well for various tasks. I will be using it mainly for studying and programming. The features that caught my interest about this laptop is the performance, durability, and upgradability.

I'm currently on my X1 Carbon 6th.

Features of T480:

• The laptop has 2 Storage available and ram as well 2 battery's
• Thickness
• Runs windows 11 on Intel Core i7 or i5 8th gen.
• Fingerprint
• Display is 1080p
• 14" inch display
• Long battery life
• Reliably, Strong build quality

The intel 8th gen CPU was release in 2017 and is already 8 years old, intel is end of life on it June 30th 2025.
What type of Programming will you be doing? Do you have a screen size and price you want to stay at?

Absolutely looking into eBay and I want like T480 16GB core i7 and no OS (I will be installing Ubuntu on it) with better seller for below $200. For programming -> Django, Java, Python and C. But I am not interested in MSI electronics. Just looking for a cheap ThinkPad Business laptop for 2025-2027.

Honestly from what I’ve used thinkpads have been the worst laptops for their price point and I’ve used everything from a £700 price point to a £5000 price point
