How hot can a GFX card Get......

Hi....This may be considered a follow up to my previous thread....but i wonder how a hot can a GPU get....in my case a GTX 295....i contacted my vendor and their support told me to get temp readings while running furmark tool.....i ran it for 5 min and by the 3 min mark or so the temp reading went up to 103 C....

An user pointed out it was too hot in my previous thread.....i need your opinions.....

my 4870x2 would get to around 100*c during games. Have you manually tried to turn your fan speed up??

try speedfan or 1 of the other software programs to speed up the fan

also check the graphic card for dust or hair and clean it

100 is not good
most of the time under heavy load im 75

was the gpu fan clean ???

do you over clock your gpu ???

i dont overclock the GPU....I suspect the fan may be dust laden.....

Mmmm that's definitely too hot. Try cleaning the fan as suggested and if it still runs that hot, I would suggest (assuming it's under warranty) sending it in.

My 8800GT ussualy stays between 85 and 90 deg C under load.
In Furmark burn-in test I reached 99-101, though.

Check what is the temperature threshold for your card in the nVidia Control Panel. If it's higher than 110, I wouldn't worry.

My record: 113 Celcius with a 8600GTS Passive Cooling. Got quite worried.

I believe NVidia max safe is 147, but I would get quite worried if you even reached that.

Currently my gts250 goes to perfectly 80 under full load. (furmark burning mode)

Question.. What case do you have?

For the 8600GTS I had a case with only a rear out fan. no intake.

For my GTS 250 now i have a POV turbine case. It has a big 25cm side fan which blows hard but is useless when it comes to cooling. 😛
