I was looking getting a custom workstation for a mix of
I was looking to get a fast 1 tb SSD
for the operating system and a pair of 4tb Seagate barracuda pro 7200rpm hard drives in a raid 1 mirror array .
for storage with a backup in place. Then maybe depending on the cost getting extra SSD for thisscratch disk and Project disk use later.
Also size wise and speed wise whts best for project and scratch disk cashe drives and how important arethey and how easy to add at a later date?
Scan uk in quotes are pushing addtional ssds for use as 'Project' and 'Cache/scratch disks' The project one they were suggesting a 2 tb drive and for the operatign system and programs drive a very slow one. Adapta I think.
How important is it to have separate scratch/cache drives and a project one, what use ae they and whihc is more important should I decide to add these at a later date.
I was originally looking at Samsung evo 970plus ssds but these corsair Force ones seem to blow them out of the water with read write speeds well over 4000
However the origonal plan was to go for either a amd tr 2950x or i9 9900x system looking at Asus Deluxe prime 2 or MSI Meg Creation boards with their thunderbolt and additional m.2 drive boards.
What I would really like is the new 3rd gen threadrpper as I hear they will have both decent ipc single thread speed and good multi thread cores. But thats 2 months away at least and this has taken way too long already. Hw much hastle and cost would it cost to upgrade to them and what would have to be swapped out.?

I was looking at
Case: Choice of
Corsair Graphite Series 780T White Full Tower Case or
Be quiet! Dark Base Pro 900 rev.2, Orange
Thinking of additionnal (dep on cost Corsair Force 1tb drives. or 2 tb drives for project ad cash/scratch disk use, . what size is suggested here)
A monitor is dependant on cost above as using my 40inch 4k tv at present.
Any other advice on this sort of build set?
